John leads BDA's work engaging the building ecosystem — including HVAC manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and other market leaders — to accelerate building electrification across Canada. John is also Chair of BDA's newly established Heat Pump Advisory Council.
With more than 25 years of experience driving systems-level change across sectors, John has spent his career designing and facilitating the kind of multi-stakeholder collaboration required to accelerate transitions, including heat pumps. Prior to joining the Transition Accelerator, John played expert advisor roles with organizations including Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), the Insurance Bureau of Canada, and PCL Construction. As Manager of Capacity Building Programs at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, he helped successfully launch the Green Municipal Fund.
