From Policy to Practice: Canada’s Energy-Efficiency Landscape and Best Practices for Heat Pumps

The Office of Energy Efficiency (now part of Environment and Climate Change Canada) will provide a status update of key policy activities including the modernization of the Energy Efficiency Act and Amendment 19 to Canada’s Energy Efficiency Regulations. CanmetENERGY Ottawa of Natural Resources Canada will present best practices for heat pump installation including strategies to avoid the need for electrical upgrades. Enhancements to its heat pump sizing and selection Toolkit and App, including new developments related to air to water heat pumps and updates to new methods for load calculations will also be discussed.  Finally, a brief update on emerging technology research will be given.
